Losing Faith
There’s a really interesting story in the LA Times about a religion reporter and documents his finding faith then losing it. It is moving in that you can feel the depth of his convictions and struggles and disturbing to see again the depth of the flaws in the institutions and people of the church.

Wow.
While the details of the man’s life (and his successes) in no way matched mine, his spiritual and intellectual trajectory closely matches mine.
I’m mostly at the same place he is. It didn’t take courage to admit that; it took being worn down by years of trying to find religion that meant what it said and said what it meant.
Churches today are too drunk on temporal power to be merely spritual, never mind anything close to holy.
